WhatsApp, a Meta-owned messaging program, is apparently intending to release a new Application Programming Interface (API) that may identify whether or not the Do Not Disturb feature is enabled. This functionality will initially be available to WhatsApp Business subscribers on the iOS platform.

WhatsApp Business’s ‘Do Not Disturb’ Mode

According to WABetaInfo, a website that analyzes WhatsApp, the future feature was initially made available to WhatsApp Business users on the iOS platform. WhatsApp beta for iOS on TestFlight has discovered that WhatsApp now supports another iOS 15 API.

This API can determine whether or not the iPhone’s do not disturb mode is activated. It also posted an image that showed how it would look on the app. According to the screenshot, anytime you get a WhatsApp call and do not receive a notice because the do not disturb option is activated, you will now see a label in front of these calls. We are also hoping for an easier way for Android to iPhone transfers.

This label in WhatsApp’s call history indicates that you missed this call because the do not disturb mode was on. According to the research, this information or caller details are not shared with WhatsApp and are only maintained in the app’s internal database. Because this is an iOS 15 API, your iPhone must be running at least iOS 15 to use this functionality.

“WhatsApp is supporting the new API this week,” according to the report. The update is likely to be posted on the App Store shortly, allowing additional users to use this capability.

When utilizing WhatsApp desktop, Business customers are also anticipated to be able to utilize cover photographs for their company’s profile. This personalized cover picture will be similar to those on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. This functionality was said to be in the works for iOS users in February of this year. It was made accessible to certain beta testers in April and is now expected to be available for WhatsApp Business for Android shortly.
