Twitter enables users to unfollow people without blocking them

Twitter is one of the most popular social media platforms, with millions of users using the program to express themselves and connect with others across the world. This social media network has its own set of distinguishing qualities.

The infamous social media platform has been testing a tool that allows users to delete followers without completely disabling a profile during the previous few weeks. The firm has now declared that the functionality is ready to go live and that it will begin rolling out to everyone this week.

Unfollow Users Without Blocking

In a tweet this week, the business stated that it was ready to send out the feature to everyone. Over the last few weeks, the functionality had been in a testing phase. Early testing of the function appears to have gone well, and it is now available to the whole public. Of course, Twitter has always offered the option of completely blocking an account, but this new tool is a little different. When you block someone, they may become crazy and react by utilizing secondary accounts or friends to do so. By preventing an account from viewing your content invisibly, removing followers attempts to reduce some of the possibility for illogical action.

Rather than entirely barring a person, deleting followers allows you to prevent someone from seeing your tweets while still retaining some privacy. On the web app, you may view your followers’ list by clicking the three-dot menu and removing any followers from there.

However, removing followers in this manner does not prevent others from reading your public tweets. If you wish to keep a profile from seeing your stuff, you’ll have to block it.

With the iOS 15 update, the latter added the App Tracking transparency feature, and apps will soon be required to simplify the deletion of user accounts once they have uninstalled an app.
