Transfer Everything from Your Old Android Phone to A New One
When you get a new phone, first you are all excited and cannot wait to test it out, but then you remember the dreaded data transferring needed and the enthusiasm dissipates. I have been there and was determined to find an easy way to move all my data without complicated processes.
I may have found the perfect solution, read on to find out.
First Step: Backup Data
Backing up is extremely important because if things go wrong and the transfer gets interrupted you may lose all your precious data forever. Photo transfers are a lot easier on Android, thanks to Google Photos. Simply backup all your photos to the Google Photos app then when you sign in to your Google account on your new Android phone, all your photos can be viewed in the Photos app.
To back up your entire device, follow these steps:
- Scroll down to System settings in your phone’s Settings app.
- Select Back up and reset.
- Enable Data backup. Google will save app data, Wi-Fi passwords, and other settings.
Second Step: Data Transfer
- Turn on your new phone with your SIM card. Connect to Wi-Fi. A popup will prompt you to transfer applications and data from an old phone upon startup. Android phone backup.
- Select Google from Settings on your previous phone.
- Setup and restore your previous phone. Choose Setup neighboring device. Your phone will find nearby devices.
- Choose your new phone model.
- Next, confirm your previous phone’s screen lock. Tap Copy.
- Sign in to Google on your new phone and confirm the screen lock of your old phone again on your new phone.
- Finally, hit “Restore” to transfer data to your new phone.
Pretty easy, right? By far the simplest and most effective way to transfer data to your new Android phone.
