Transfer Applications, Music, Photos, Games, and Contacts to a New Phone
The first thing you need to do when you get a brand-new smartphone is transfer all your personal data including apps, photos, videos, contacts and more into your shiny new phone. The entire data migration process can be tiring but we have a streamlined, secure way you can make the switch.
iPhone to iPhone Transfers
Apple has a Quick Start feature that enables you to set up your new phone using your existing device. If your current phone is running iOS 12.4 or later, you will be able to use device-to-device migration.
Turn on your new phone and place it near your old one. On your existing phone, a Quick Start screen should open, offering you the choice to set up your new iPhone using your Apple ID. If this does not happen, make sure your Bluetooth is switched on, then hit continue to view a picture on your new phone.
Hold your existing phone in your viewfinder and center it; if this succeeds, you should see the message “Finish on New iPhone.” If this does not work, you should be able to Authenticate. When asked, manually input your current password on your new phone and continue the setup procedures. When you reach the Transfer Your Data page, hit “Transfer from iPhone” and keep the devices close together until the migration is complete.
The “time to transfer time” should vary based on how much data you’re transmitting and your network connections.
iPhone/Android Transfers
If you are looking for a seamless clone it app for cross-platform transfer, I highly recommend Smart Transfer.
- Download the Smart Transfer app for your smartphone from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.
- When the installation is finished, launch the app on both devices. Allow permissions to continue.
- On the iPhone, choose the Sender option, and on the Android, select the Receiver option.
- Wait for the connection to establish. Both cellphones must be linked to the same Wi-Fi network.
- It should be noted that content transmission over Hotspot is possible. Users may manually connect to a hotspot for data transmission.
- The recipient device will display an activation code. For connection setup, enter this code into the sender.
- To begin the transfer, accept the connection request delivered to the receiving phone.
- A list of material that is supported will be shown. Select all of the material (pictures and videos) that you wish to share and hit the Start button.
- Once the transfer procedure has started, you may monitor its progress and cancel it at any moment.
- Simply exit the app after the data transmission is complete!
Android to Android Transfers
Android to Android transfers are pretty simple. Just follow these simple steps:
- Sign in to your Google account on your current phone if you don’t already have one, or create one if you don’t.
- Back up your data if you haven’t previously. Turn on your new phone and hit start when prompted.
- Select “copy applications and data from your old phone.” You may do this using a cable to connect the phone or by choosing “A backup from an Android phone.”
- Follow the remaining prompts to transfer your data over.
Pretty easy ways of moving data across smartphones and platforms. Make sure that all devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi and there are no interruptions during the transfers. It is always preferred to backup your data before initiating transfers in case something goes wrong.
