The Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus Outperforms iPhone 13 Pro Max
After a few weeks of using the Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus, something unexpected happened. We’re really contemplating reserving our praise for the iPhone 13 Pro Max in favour of Samsung’s newest flagship, and it’s not even the most expensive variant.
We are truly impressed by Samsung’s latest flagship lineup. Even their most conventional model, the Samsung Galaxy Plus S22 Plus outperforms the iPhone 13 Pro Max.
Superior Design
When we first picked up the S22 Plus, we observed that, despite having a 6.6-inch display that’s practically identical to the 6.7-inch iPhone 13 Pro Max, it’s a lot easier to grip. It’s slimmer and lighter, weighs less, and, unlike the iPhone, has curved sides, which is perhaps the most significant feature for making bigger phone screens accessible.
The S22 Plus is also as attractive as the iPhone. With its “contour cut” cameras and restored glass back, the gadget looks fantastic. In comparison to the notched iPhone, the punch-hole selfie camera improves the phone’s appearance and allows you to see more of the display.
Brighter Display
In terms of display, it is at least comparable to that of the iPhone Pro Max. The FHD Galaxy S22 Plus does not have the same resolution as the QHD Galaxy S22, but it does have the same 120Hz refresh rate and is brighter. In our tests, the Galaxy S22 Plus had the highest rating of 1,326 nits, compared to 1,038 nits for the iPhone 13 Pro Max.
The Galaxy S22 Plus has reduced bezels as well. While the unused black space surrounding the display isn’t the most exciting aspect of a phone, it does mean that you get more screens for your money. Additionally, the Always-On display is an appealing factor as well; it is worth mentioning that the iPhone 13 does not offer a similar feature.
Fingerprint Lock
Although most users have no problems with Apple’s Face ID technology, there are occasions when users must abandon face recognition in favour of entering their PIN. The S22 Plus’s under-display fingerprint sensor isn’t new or unusual, but it’s still incredibly reliable and quick in ways that Face ID can’t equal right now.
Also, unlike other Android phones, Samsung employs ultrasonic scanners rather than optical readers, so you don’t get that obnoxious flash of light when you unlock the phone.
Camera with Better Pro Features
The iPhone offers a tiny advantage in terms of image clarity, as well as a more realistic degree of brightness and colour saturation. The Galaxy S22 Plus, on the other hand, has several unique features, including a 3x optical zoom and a 30x Super Res Zoom. There is a 3x optical zoom on the iPhone 13 Pro Max, but only a 15x digital zoom.
There’s also the Expert RAW camera software from Samsung. The notion that consumers may have this amount of control over their iPhone camera app, as opposed to the more automated version, is an interesting prospect. Everything from the ISO and shutter speed to the white balance may be changed.
Charging Speed
The Galaxy S22 Plus couldn’t match the battery life of the iPhone 13 Pro Max, but few phones do. Fortunately, it supports significantly faster 45W charging, with a 50 per cent charge time of 20 minutes. That’s faster than the iPhone 13 Pro Max’s 20W charger, which can only charge to 50% in 30 minutes.
Flexible Software
When compared to iOS, one UI offers certain advantages. You have considerably more choice with an Android-based system in terms of placing your applications and widgets exactly where you want them, rather than where Apple thinks you would want them. Furthermore, the overall performance is seamless, the device is able to run apps such as Photo Finder without any issues.
Samsung’s Edge panel, which allows you to quickly access applications, contacts, and tools by swiping in from a certain location on the screen, is one feature we’d like to emphasise on the S22 Plus. Similar functions have existed on other Android smartphones, but this one works really well.
