We’re all quite interested to see what Google has planned for the foldable Pixel Notepad. Everything up to this point has been a rumor, so keep that in mind whenever we talk about an unpublished, unconfirmed, and yet unknown phone. But don’t let that dampen your excitement as we get closer and closer to Google’s first folding phone being a reality.

All We Know So Far

We already know that Google has acquired Samsung’s foldable OLED panels and glass technology. We know that Android 12L is obviously geared towards folding phones, thus the Pixel Notepad might be released to show off the final build of 12L to the general public. The Pixel Notepad was once known as the ‘Passport’ code name and is now known as ‘Pitpit.’ We know that the phone will be called Pixel Notepad (not Pixel Fold) and that instead of being a tall, slender smartphone when closed, the Pixel Notepad will be more conventional in size, similar to the Oppo Find N.

So far we know quite a lot about the latest gadget but there is still a lot more we need to know to quench our curiosity. Questions such as its size, will it be able to process apps such as contact remover seamlessly are pretty much unanswered.

Rumored Price Tag

Initially, we heard about the Pixel Notepad, there was a rumor that it will be cheaper than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3. As it turns out, this appears to be the truth, with the foldable Pixel Notepad costing roughly $1400, or $400 cheaper than Samsung’s latest and finest phone/tablet combination. When we get into this level of specialized and complex technology, the costs rise. It’s just a fact of life. However, if Google can maintain this cost when the Notepad is released, it would undoubtedly make a significant sensation in the foldable environment.

So, now that we have a basic size, material information, a name, and some price, it feels like we’re coming closer to at least some type of official Google announcement. With their track record of early renderings and leaks leaking out all over the place, Google’s ability to keep this one under wraps for so long is astounding. The fact that we’re getting close to seeing this phone yet have yet to see a legitimate render is startling to say the least.

There’s no way of knowing when the device will be unleashed because we’ve never seen a Pixel introduced outside of the regular October window that wasn’t an A-series smartphone. However, 12L is on the way, so let’s hope the Pixel Notepad is prepared.
