One of the most significant issues with iPhones is battery life. Apple users have often voiced their concern over the iPhones’ poor battery life, but with the recent upgrades, the longtime issue may finally be resolved for good.

Will iPhone 14 Get a 5000 mAh Battery?

Before we go any further, it’s important to note that we don’t know much about the battery sizes and hence the durability of the iPhone 14 series.

However, as previously reported, we discovered a tweet from iHacktu iLeak that makes several big claims regarding the upcoming iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, including 35% greater GPU and 42% better CPU speed than the iPhone 13 Pro. The tipster also mentions “2h10” more battery life. We’ll take iHacktu’s statements with a grain of salt since he has a good track record of leaking OS upgrades but not hardware.

However, it’s worth noting that Twitter insider ShrimpApplePro has an excellent track record of forecasting Apple hardware updates like the A16 Bionic processor and the new double-punch hole design on the iPhone 14 Pro, has retweeted his colleague tipster’s tweet and doesn’t seem to disapprove of it.

Aside from that, it’s worth mentioning that the iPhone 14 Pro Max’s endurance will be determined by factors other than battery and screen size. So, there are a few more aspects to consider, which is where additional iPhone 14 Pro leaks and speculations are helpful. This time, the rumours seem to be highly credible.

According to multiple reliable sources, the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max will have larger batteries than the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Ma, a new and more efficient 1–120Hz display, and a new and more efficient A16 Bionic chip; hence, which will still be 5nm but less power-hungry, similar to the upgrade from the A14 to the A15. The upgrade means the phone will efficiently run apps similar to Smart Transfer without any issues.

A new, more efficient A16 Bionic CPU and the new 1–120Hz ProMotion screen, which can refresh at as low as 1Hz when required to save battery life, will undoubtedly contribute to greater endurance on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Android vs Apple

Even if we exclude any probable efficiency gains that the new hardware on the iPhone 14 Pro Max may offer, Apple’s top new flagship should achieve at least 15% greater endurance than the iPhone 13 Pro Max if it had a 5000 mAh battery. This implies it would last 40% longer than the Galaxy S22 Ultra and 55% longer than the Pixel 6 Pro.

However, suppose we believe that the further hardware changes in the iPhone 14 Pro Max would improve battery life. In that case, we might be looking at some significant discrepancies between the 14 Pro Max and Android flagships.

As previously said, we cannot confirm if the iPhone 14 Pro Max will indeed have a 15% larger battery than the iPhone 13 Pro Max, at 5000 mAh. However, we know that in Apple’s environment, considerable battery advances aren’t all that unlikely. For example, the iPhone 13 Pro Max’s battery got precisely 15% greater capacity when compared to the iPhone 12 Pro Max from 2020, and we know that the future iPhone 14 Pro Max will be 0.2mm thicker than its predecessor, which is a good omen.
