The Galaxy S21 FE is lacking one function in addition to the charger

The Galaxy S21 FE is the newest Samsung device to come with absolutely no accessories in the box. The Galaxy S21 FE started delivering to consumers last week, and at this time, few people were surprised that it didn’t come with a wall charger or a pair of wired headphones. This isn’t the first Galaxy phone to do so, and it certainly won’t be the last. However, there is one more item that Samsung left out of the Galaxy S21 FE retail package, and it’s not what you’d think. Samsung has removed the pre-installed screen protector in particular.

What Else Will Be Missing From the Box

The Galaxy S21 FE comes with a USB-C cable and the standard paperwork, but not much else. Samsung realized that most smartphone users already had a wall charger and a set of headphones, so rather than contributing to the rising environmental problem, the firm chose to eliminate these accessories from Galaxy smartphone retail packaging.

With the arrival of the Galaxy S21 FE, Samsung looks to have taken things a step further in terms of simplifying the retail package contents. Perhaps you’ve gone a little too far. It also removed the pre-installed screen protector that comes standard with most Galaxy phones, leaving just the layer of Gorilla Glass Victus to protect the Galaxy S21 FE’s screen. While the midrange device is excepted to perform complex tasks such as running photo finder without any issues, further deductions from the box may result in a decrease in sales.

Samsung previously detailed why wall chargers and earphones were removed from retail packaging, and while unfortunate, the choice made sense. After all, many Samsung customers have leftover equipment from earlier Galaxy models and may benefit from a price decrease rather than purchasing yet another set of accessories. Plus, there’s the whole “green” thing.

But there’s one thing most buyers don’t have before buying a new phone: a screen protector.

A screen protector is a one-time use item that is fitted to the size and form of each phone — in this example, the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE. To put it another way, the Galaxy S21 FE is spanking new, and almost no one has a spare, unused screen protector that would suit the smartphone properly. They’ll have to purchase one individually if they require one.

Samsung didn’t simply remove another ‘extra’ component from the retail package with the debut of the Galaxy S21 FE. It took it a step farther, perhaps too much, especially because the Galaxy S21 FE isn’t any less expensive than the prior model. It’s a shame because the Galaxy S21 FE appears to be more than a competent upper mid-range phone.
