Samsung’s ‘Repair Mode’ Hides Info from Techs
There has been an alarming rise in cases of data theft. Smartphone users are quite weary of such attacks and need a viable solution. It is possible to delete everything on your phone, but doing so will need you to go through the troublesome process of recovering it afterwards. Now, Samsung has provided a remedy for that problem in the shape of a brand-new feature that is being referred to as “Repair Mode.”
Samsung has a New ‘Repair Mode’
According to a Korean announcement that was discovered for the first time by SamMobile, the new mode may be activated in Settings by going to the “Battery and Device Care” section. When the function is turned on, it will conceal your personal information, images, messages, and associated accounts; however, Samsung did not explain the technology that was used to create the feature. The technician will only be able to see the applications such as smart switch that were pre-installed on the device. To restore access to your data, you will first need to make sure that Repair Mode is turned off, and then you may either use fingerprint or pattern recognition to verify your identity.
Since Samsung has not announced the availability of the function elsewhere except Korea, it is probably fair to assume that it is only accessible in the nation in which the firm is headquartered at the time. In addition, you can get it on no other phones save those in the Galaxy S21 series for the time being. However, the firm has said that it plans to bring Repair Mode to further models in the future, as well as possibly expanding its availability to additional locations.
