Samsung’s latest release of the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23 Ultra had its fair share of advancements, but the changes could be considered incremental compared to the Galaxy S22 family. However, as we test these new phones, we may discover capabilities that change our initial perceptions. In this article, we highlight some of the standout features of the Galaxy S23 that you may have missed during the launch event.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform for Galaxy

Samsung has taken Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and put an emphasis on performance. This customized version of the chipset promises better performance and power efficiency. In initial tests, the Galaxy S23 Ultra posted impressive benchmark scores, even outperforming the latest iPhones in some tests.

256GB of base storage

Select base models of the Galaxy S23 and S23 Ultra now come with 256GB of storage, which is double the amount offered in the base model of the Galaxy S22 Plus released a year ago. Customers can upgrade to 256GB storage for free with a preorder deal through Samsung.

Galaxy S23: $100 Credit + Storage Upgrade

Preordering the Galaxy S23 through Samsung comes with a free memory/storage upgrade and $100 Samsung credit. Which means you can easily clone data from your devices without worrying about storage. Additionally, Samsung is offering exclusive access to the phones in unique colors.

Galaxy S23 Ultra’s Pixel-Binning Prowess

The Galaxy S23 Ultra’s 200MP main camera stands out with its pixel-binning prowess. The main camera combines 16 megapixels into one to produce 12MP photos with improved details, especially in low-light circumstances. The phone also offers quad-pixel binning to produce 50MP shots or the full 200MP resolution for background details.

Overall, the Samsung Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23 Ultra have a few hidden gems that make them worth considering. From the customized Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform to the impressive storage options and pixel-binning camera, these phones are sure to make a splash when they arrive on February 17th.
