Users of the Google Pixel 6 and 6 Pro are dissatisfied with Google’s $30 first-party cases. According to Reddit and Amazon reviews, many consumers have complained about the translucent plastic fading, warping, or just not fitting the phone from the manufacturer.

Some people have provided some gruesome images of their cases, claiming that they degenerated in as little as two or three weeks.

The Google Pixel 6 Cases a Letdown

While there are many excellent evaluations for the cases, the amount of complaints is difficult to ignore. It also seems implausible that this is the result of a faulty batch of instances. There’s a Reddit post from January talking about the problem, as well as one from only a few hours ago with very identical comments.

Some reviews also say that the cases begin to alter form around the buttons or bottom, which makes me concerned about their capacity to protect my phone.

Anyone who has purchased a $10 transparent phone cover is probably acquainted with this kind of quick degradation. Translucent plastics, for the most part, are simply a fact of life. Even many of the bad reviews confess that they anticipated the discolouration to occur at some time; they simply didn’t expect it to occur in a matter of weeks or months, or to appear quite so nasty when it did.

However, this isn’t some low-cost, no-name case; it’s one marketed and branded by the same business that manufactures the phones. While the Pixel 6 devices are able to carry out transfers from an Android to iPhone easily, the cases are a letdown. There’s also the fact that this is an issue that Google has already tackled.

Fortunately, there are lots of third-party Pixel covers available these days, but it’s a shame that purchasing the official one is such a risk. At the very least, these stories began to circulate before the Pixel 6A was announced; if Google provides comparable covers for its less expensive phone, it may be advisable to avoid it until the firm says that it has resolved the problem.
