At Oppo’s INNO Day festivities the Air Glasses and the intriguing MariSilicon X Imaging NPU were impressive, but the Find N was without a doubt the true show-stopper.

Oppo Find N

The venerable Find series is receiving its first foldable smartphone, and it looks incredible. The new Oppo Find N is smaller than the Galaxy Fold and features a gapless design thanks to the company’s unique Flexion hinge. But it also gets Samsung’s folding Dynamic AMOLED screen, or at least a reduced version of it, which is the finest feature the Fold has to offer.

As a result, the Find N is based on a Samsung 7.1-inch foldable AMOLED screen. It supports dynamic 120Hz, HDR10+, and the same 370ppi sharpness as the Fold3. Unlike the Fold, the Find N sports an interior selfie camera with a punch-hole rather than an under-screen one.

Of course, the Find N has a second screen on the outside. It’s a 5.49-inch AMOLED with 402ppi density and Gorilla Glass Victus protection that’s practically bezel-less. This panel’s refresh rate is fixed at 60Hz. Both screens support a broad color gamut, are similarly calibrated for excellent color matching and have a peak brightness of up to 1000nits.

Except for the tri-camera arrangement, another Gorilla Glass Victus layer protects the rear. The 50MP main sensor, 16MP ultrawide sensor, and 13MP zoom sensor are all housed in a gorgeous ceramic component.

The Find N is powered by Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 888 processor, and it has a wide range of connection options. Users will be able to carry out everyday tasks including slightly commanding tasks such as removing duplicate contacts. If it ever leaves China, it should be able to support all essential network bands. The only item that appears to be lacking so far is ultrawideband support, but that is so uncommon that it isn’t a big deal.

Ingress protection is one absence that strikes out since there is nothing in the publicity materials on it. We can confirm, however, that the Find N is not fully impervious to perspiration, humidity, or water, but more on that later. Let’s take the new Find N out of the package and give it a try.

Summing Up

The Oppo Find N comes in a huge black box that suggests a luxury package. Unfortunately, despite its massive size, the only accessories included are a 33W power converter and a USB cable. Nevertheless, it is quite an impressive foldable device and we look forward to fully testing it out.
