Is Google Pixel Watch Compatible with an iPhone?
Google has finally launched its very own smartwatch, the Google Pixel. Overall, the watch is impressive and exceeds our expectations, even though it is not the best smartwatch on the market. The real question is, “Is the Pixel Watch compatible with other OS devices such as iPhone?” Sadly, no.
If you are an iPhone user and want a Pixel Watch, we recommend against it, since for now Google has not released any statement about if or when Pixel watches will work with Apple devices.
Smartwatches Apple Users Should Try
The absence of iOS compatibility for the Pixel Watch, on the other hand, has nothing to do with Google’s Wear OS. We say this because the Montblanc Summit 3 smartwatch, which comes with Wear OS 3 software, is compatible with iPhones. That’s a fantastic Wear OS wristwatch, but it costs $1,290, which is much more than the Pixel Watch. Instead, we offer the TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra or the Fossil Gen 6 smartwatch. They’re both powered by Google’s Wear OS and aren’t too pricey.
Alternatively, since Fitbit devices are compatible with iPhones, you may want to look into these. Because the Google Pixel Watch extensively depends on Fitbit integration for all health and fitness aspects, the overall experience will be quite similar to that of a dedicated Fitbit device. We propose that you look at the new Fitbit Sense 2. However, it is worth mention that the Pixel watch will soon have essential Google apps such as Gmail, which means that the tech giant might soon even launch more apps on Wear OS including photos transfer apps which will make the watches more practical and productive.
Lastly, the alternative smartwatches may not have all the capabilities of the Pixel Watch, but they get close. However, even the Pixel Watch will not operate as easily with an iPhone as an Apple Watch, maybe try out the latest Apple watches unveiled at this year’s Apple Event.
