iPhone 14 Enthusiasts May Be Disappointed with This Latest News
We have heard a lot about Apple’s iPhone 14. From Always-On Displays to bigger screen, it seems the tech giant is making monumental changes to the latest iPhone but there is one specification that is making iPhone enthusiasts confused.
Mark Gurman, a Bloomberg writer and Apple tipter, has stated again again that Apple is likely to save the reported new A16 processor for the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. Meanwhile, the normal iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max/Plus would get the A15 Bionic technology now available in the iPhone 13 series.
Differences Between iPhone 14 Models
The chip disparity seems to be an odd decision, given that practically every new Apple phone has come with an improved or adjusted processor. However, although we’ve heard this claim before, Gurman has expanded on it, suggesting that the chip gap would be caused by Apple’s reliance on its M-series Apple Silicon processors for the next Mac computers.
With the newly launched M2 chip-equipped MacBook Pro and the upcoming MacBook Air 2022, as well as an existing suite of Macs with versions of the Apple M1 processor, Cupertino may have its hands full with Mac silicon.
Gurman also said that the chip scarcity has significantly raised the cost of producing and delivering components. Offering the A16 in just the more costly Pro models might be Apple’s method of absorbing the price rise without passing it on to customers. This might also explain the latest price increase speculation for the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max.
If the regular iPhone 14 is burdened with a less powerful CPU, and other speculations imply it may also lose out on other changes like as a new notch design, swifter android file transfers and 120Hz refresh rate display, some customers may decide to pass on this model.
In contrast, the iPhone 14 Pro versions are expected to have new pill-and-punch-hole-shaped cutouts for Face ID and the selfie cameras, as well as a 48MP primary camera and an always-on display. This makes the iPhone 14 Pro seem to be the next-generation Apple phone to look forward to, especially if you want the greatest power in an iPhone, such as for video editing and rendering on the move.
But keep in mind that the A15 Bionic is a blisteringly fast slice of silicon that performed brilliantly in our tests. In fact, we’d argue that A-series processors are so strong and efficient that even those from two generations ago would provide enough power for the majority of people. While the iPhone 14 may not be a game changer in terms of design, keeping the tried-and-true feel of the iPhone 13 series, which is extremely consistent, is not a bad thing.
Keeping this in mind, don’t write out the basic iPhone 14 just yet. It’s also worth noting that a bigger 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Max model is expected to replace the 5.4-inch iPhone 13 small, which may be motivation enough for some people to upgrade just on size.
