Now that Apple has published a fresh version of its iOS 16 developer beta, we may soon see a public beta for iOS 16. (July 6). iOS 16 developer beta 3 is now available for download from Apple’s developer site and includes several new capabilities not featured in previous versions of the iPhone software.

Based on rumors from across the internet, here’s what’s new in iOS 16 developer beta 3.

iCloud Shared Photo Library

Apple praised the arrival of iCloud Shared Photo Library, which allows users to share photographs with up to six other people through the cloud, during its WWDC preview of iOS 16. Everyone who has access to a Shared Photo Library has equal access, so anybody may upload, edit, and remove photographs, and you can add photos straight from the Camera app. When the folks with whom data sharing is enabled to your Shared Photo Library are nearby, there’s even a proximity-sharing function.

iCloud Shared Photo Library was absent in previous iOS 16 developer betas, but it’s back in beta three. It’s under the Photos part of the Settings app, where you may enable and configure a Shared Library.

iOS 16 Clownfish Wallpaper

If you have a good memory, you may recall the clownfish wallpaper that displayed when Steve Jobs demonstrated the first iPhone. The wallpaper has been missing for the last 15 years, but that seems to be changing with iOS 16. Some users claim that it is now a wallpaper choice in beta 3, albeit it is not available to all users at this time.

AFib history in the Health app

Another feature promoted by Apple but not included in prior iOS 16 betas, AFib history records atrial fibrillation by collaborating with an Apple Watch to determine when and for how long a person suffers abnormal heart beats. The functionality is now available in the Health app, but you’ll also need the newest beta of watchOS 9 to use it.

Other changes

That is not the whole list of changes brought forth by iOS 16 beta 3. A new Reminders app feature allows you to include tasks that are both due today and past due in the badge count that shows above the app’s icon. If you’re running the iPadOS 16 beta, you may notice some improvements to Stage Manager, such as an enhanced multitasking menu and a window picker for applications that have multiple windows.
