Google May Be Building on A ‘Small-Screen’ Pixel
Many people had mixed feelings about Google’s Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro smartphones, in part because of the larger form factor that these handsets brought to the table. On the other hand, a recent report suggests that Google might be working on a Pixel phone with a “tiny screen.”
“Small-Screen” Pixel in Development
According to a reliable source on Weibo, Google is reportedly hard at work on a “small-screen flagship machine” that will be included in the company’s portfolio of smartphones. The Pixel devices are known for their seamless Android phone transfer functions hence we are excited to see a smaller screen phone. The front of the device would have a design like a centered hole punch, while the rear would have a look that Google refers to as a “family style” design, presumably to match the appearance of whatever iteration of the Pixel it was intended for.
This rumor does not include any information on a release date; it just states that the gadget will have the codename “neila.” Throughout its history, Google has introduced a large number of phones with relatively tiny screens as part of the Pixel series. It used to be the case that Google’s smartphones were among the only flagship-tier devices with displays under six inches beginning with the original Pixel and continuing through the Pixel 4 series, but this is no longer the case.
However, both of the company’s most recent phones are quite a little bigger than their predecessors. The company’s “regular” model, the 6, is almost the same size as many of Google’s “XL” versions from years ago. With a display of 6.1 inches and a size that we thought was pretty attractive, the Pixel 6a is the smallest smartphone that Google presently offers for sale.
Google is known for ditching it’s projects mid-development (i.e. Pixelbook) hence we not putting much trust into this rumor unless an official statement is released.
