Apple did made some minor adjustments to the Reminders app, providing a few additional choices, but the iOS 16 update mostly focused on the Lock Screen and new capabilities for applications like Mail, Messages, and Photos.

Reminders App Gets Revamped

For those who use the Reminders app on a regular basis, pinned lists, list templates, and the finished smart list are significant upgrades.

The most frequently used lists may be pinned to the top of the Reminders app for fast access. Pinned lists appear alongside Reminder app categories such as Today, Scheduled, and Flagged.

In the Reminders app, Apple has included a new “Completed” area that collects all of the reminders that you have checked off and done. It is divided into parts such as Previous 7 Days and Previous 30 Days, and it further arranges reminders into months and years. Completed reminders may be erased individually or cleaned entirely by hitting the “Clear” icon at the top of the program.

If you have a list that you often use, such as a shopping list, file sharing tracking or a packing list, you may store it as a template and reuse it at any time. When you create a new list, the template section appears as an option from which you may choose previously made templates. You may make any template shared under the Reminders app’s Templates section. You may then copy the URL and share it to others. Others may also share templates with you, which can then be imported into the Reminders app.

Furthermore, grouping by time and date is intended to make viewing and adding reminders simpler. For a better split of the day, the Today List is now divided into Morning, Afternoon, and Night sections. For longer-term organizing, the Scheduled List comprises week and month groupings.

Additionally, Reminders are compatible with the new collaboration feature introduced by Apple in iOS 16. When you invite someone to collaborate in Messages or FaceTime, everyone on the thread gets added to the Note or Reminder that you’re working with.
