Google is releasing ChromeOS version 107 to Chromebooks soon. This update delivers five changes to ChromeOS, the most notable of which is a speedier handling of frequently used files that you may have viewed before and need rapid access to.

Latest ChromeOS 107 Updates

ChromeOS 107 improves the recent files filter, making it easier to view recently used files. When compared to ChromeOS 106, the recent files filter in the Files app is now divided into distinct time periods. For instance, if you last accessed a photos transfer folder and then a Word doc after some time, both files will be separated according to the time they were opened. There’s also a new document filtering option. The functionality is enabled by default and does not need any action to be activated.

Aside from that, you’ll notice two key improvements with Desks, as well as the way you lock your Chromebook. Chromebooks now have the ability to lock a device when the lid shuts without stopping the current session. According to Google, if you utilize the current settings page for Show lock screen after awakening from sleep, it will now now work with locking the screen when shutting the lid.

Using Desks, you can now save and dismiss a full virtual desk while also storing the applications and windows in the layout you were using. When switching between virtual workstations, this should make it easier to go back to what matters. This may be accessed by pressing the Show windows key and selecting Save desk for later.

More Features

Dark mode support for the Canvas and Cursive applications, as well as the ability to create a workstation for each project or activity you’re working on, and then shut all active tabs and windows with a single click, are among the minor changes in this edition.

Upgrade your Chromebook to the latest version to gain access to these fantastic features and improve your overall user experience.
