Tim Cook Is Less Discreet Regarding Apple’s AR Headset

As Apple prepares its mixed reality headset, AR Glass might arrive in late 2024. This gadget has now reached the design development stage, according to Haitong Intl Tech Research analyst Jeff Pu.

Last Monday, Pu said that Luxshare will continue to be one of Apple’s primary suppliers for devices to be released between late 2022 and 2024. Furthermore, the company’s AR Glass product will be available in the second half of 2024.

Recent Updates

In an interview with state-run media China Daily, Tim Cook hinted that Apple is working on an augmented reality, or AR, product, advising AR aficionados to “remain tuned and you will see what we have to offer.” It seems to be a blatant suggestion that the business is working on a headset, as has been reported for years — unless, of course, he believes that people would be thrilled about using ARKit applications on their phones.

For years, rumors have circulated that Apple is working on an AR headset or perhaps a hybrid augmented/virtual reality headset, and from what we’ve learned, the design process has been contentious. The gadget is currently assumed to be a self-contained unit, with the computer powering the built-in headgear, which is capable of complex functions such as transfer data and more.

According to recent sources, the headset is nearly ready. According to Bloomberg, work on its operating system, Reality OS, has begun, and the board of directors was given the opportunity to test the hardware last month.

Nonetheless, Cook’s remark isn’t conclusive evidence that Apple’s headgear is on the horizon. Apple expressly said in March that an Apple Silicon Mac Pro announcement was on the way. Many people, including me, assumed that meant we’d see it at WWDC in June. However, the speech ended without Apple demonstrating its top-of-the-line computer. What I mean is that, although Apple seems to be opening up a little more about what devices it has in the works, it is still keeping us in the dark.
