Apple’s iPhone 14 Pro & 14 Pro Max are expected to gain Storage Increases

The iPhone is a range of cell phones developed and sold by Apple Inc., which run on the iOS mobile operating system developed by the company. On January 9, 2007, Steve Jobs, then-CEO of Apple, announced the release of the first-generation iPhone. Since then, Apple has launched new iPhone models and iOS upgrades on an annual basis. According to Apple, more than 2.2 billion iPhones have been sold as of November 1, 2018.

The iPhone’s user interface is based on a multi-touch screen, first for mobile devices. It can connect to cellular networks or Wi-Fi networks and do various tasks such as making phone calls, browsing the web, taking photographs, playing music, and sending and receiving emails and text messages. In addition, the iPhone has gained several new features since its introduction, including higher screen sizes, the ability to record video, waterproofing, the option to install third-party mobile applications via an app store, and other accessibility enhancements. Up to the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus, iPhones had a simple layout with a single button on the front panel that sent the user back to the home screen when pressed. Since the release of the iPhone X with its all features like iPhone transfer, all iPhone models have had a virtually bezel-less front screen design, with app switching enabled using gesture recognition technology.

The iPhone, along with Android, is one of the two most popular smartphone systems globally, accounting for a significant portion of the premium market. In addition, Apple has made significant earnings due to the iPhone, propelling the company to the top of the world’s most valuable publicly listed firms. It has been said that Apple’s first-generation iPhone was “revolutionary” and a “game-changer” for the mobile phone industry, and subsequent generations have also received positive feedback. In addition to popularizing the smartphone and tablet form factors, the iPhone is credited with fostering an enormous market for smartphone applications, known as the “app economy.” According to Apple’s App Store statistics, as of January 2017, the iPhone has more than 2.2 million apps available.

Apple’s iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max

According to rumors, even the entry-level model in the iPhone 14 series will sport a 120 Hz ProMotion display, which will be a significant advance over the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 small displays. In addition, 6 GB of RAM is also said to be on the way but without the possibility of an upgrade to 8 GB for the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. On the other hand, Apple’s next-generation ‘Pro’ iPhones might have better storage options.

Several information about the full iPhone 14 series, and not just the Pro versions, have been revealed by analyst Jeff Pu. For background, Apple is still slated to deliver two ‘Pro’ iPhones in the fall, the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, both of which will be available in the United States. Apple differentiated the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max from the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 small last year based on three features: cameras, ProMotion screens, and RAM, among others. On the other hand, Pu feels that Apple will eliminate two of those features with the iPhone 14 series.

According to a study note obtained by MacRumors, Pu claims that all iPhone 14 models will have 6 GB of RAM, which is an improvement above the current 4 GB of RAM seen in non-Pro versions. According to Apple, Apple now equips the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max with 6 GB of RAM but only employs 4 GB of RAM in the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 small. While it is believed that Apple will discontinue the tiny model this year, it is possible that it could be replaced with a non-Pro Max variant.

For whatever reason, Apple has decided to hold off on upgrading the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max to 8 GB of RAM, which is the bare minimum that Android flagships must have these days. Additionally, it is expected that all models will be equipped with ProMotion screens. In this way, all iPhone 14 models may support variable refresh rates up to 120 Hz, making them compatible with the iPhone 13 Pro and iPad Pro ranges.

Furthermore, according to Pu, the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max will be available with 256 GB of storage, not 128 GB of storage. However, according to MacRumors, it seems doubtful that Apple would bring back the 64 GB storage capacity as the entry-level storage configuration for the iPhone 14 and the iPhone 14 Max, as it did for the iPhone 13.
