Apple might unveil a 20-inch all-screen foldable MacBook before a foldable iPhone
According to Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) analyst Ross Young, Apple is studying all-screen foldable MacBooks and has likely delayed the foldable iPhone until 2025.
Apple’s long-rumored foldable iPhone has been delayed until 2025, according to a new DSCC assessment on forthcoming foldable and rollable electronics. This appears to be a major delay compared to prior forecasts of a 2023 or 2024 release date. The delay was revealed following discussions with supply chain sources, implying that Apple is not in a rush to enter the foldable market.
Apple’s Foldable MacBook
Regardless of postponing its foldable iPhone plans, Apple is said to be looking into the idea of providing all-screen foldable notebooks. With its suppliers, the corporation is rumored to be contemplating foldable notebooks with displays of 20 inches in size.
Young believes that this gadget will create a new product category for Apple, as it will be able to function as a notebook with a full-size on-screen keyboard when folded and as a monitor when unfolded and utilized with an external keyboard when unfolded. At the size Apple is looking into, the foldable might also allow for 4K resolutions or higher. It is worth mentioning that we expect the device to be able to carry out complex functions such as iPhone transfers seamlessly.
The foldable laptop is expected to be released “later” than 2025, with 2026 or 2027 being suggested as viable options. Apple’s involvement in the foldable notebook market has been described as “excellent news for the foldable area” in general.
Furthermore, Young has revealed a slew of correct details about Apple’s intentions, including the iPhone 13 Pro’s ProMotion display, the sixth-generation iPad mini’s display size and bezels, the mini-LED displays with ProMotion on the 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pros, and more. Young was also the source of speculations about the iPhone 14 Pro’s pill-shaped and hole-punch TrueDepth camera design to replace the notch, as well as the mini-LED iMac Pro’s June delivery date.
