Apple’s iPhones are the epitome of premium phones; the only problem is that they run out of battery a lot quicker than most smartphones. The tech giant has been unable to provide a solution for the limited battery life but it seems Apple is finally looking for a solution.

Recent reports by Bloomberg reveal that Apple is reportedly developing a Magsafe battery back accessory for the iPhone 12. The previous models had Smart Battery Cases which protected your iPhone and boosted the battery a bit. However, no such case has been released for the iPhone 12 hence the alternative search for prolonging battery life makes sense. Apple plans to use the MagSafe connector on the back of the iPhone to be able to create a wireless charging battery pack that simply magnetically snaps onto the back of the iPhone 12. This particular design will be similar in design to the Magsafe leather accessories and at most, one white rubber case is expected.

Bloomberg further elaborated claiming that the battery pack is facing developmental issues and software issues. The iOS reports that the battery pack is overheating even when it isn’t. This is quite concerning since Apple may scrap the entire thing altogether. The details on if the tech mogul has developed standard iPhone 12 Smart Battery Cases as a substitute if the ambitious wireless battery pack accessory is still a bit vague. The report also noted that it is unlikely that the iPhone lineup is unlikely to receive support for reverse wireless charging anytime soon.

Moreover, no official announcements have been made since Apple is still doubtful of its release. Speculations about the battery pack began after a reference to it was found in code in the iOS 14.5 beta, MacRumors reported earlier this week.

Meanwhile, third-party manufactures are working on a similar device to that of the Magsafe battery pack. Meanwhile, Apple and Facebook are in one of the biggest tech feuds of this decade due to Apple’s App Tracking Transparency update which limits data sharing. If this charger sees the light of day, it may sole iPhone battery issue.
