Gmail users are well acquainted with the crowded the interface can get. Google appears to agree, since a new interface will be accessible to all users on February 8, 2022. At that point, a pop-up should appear in the bottom corner of your inbox inviting you to switch to the new UI.

The mail, chat, spaces, and meet sections are now separated into easy-to-find tabs on the left side of the inbox. These components are crowded into the same column in the present UI, making it impossible to see any dense information. The chat, places, and meet sections were first included in a Gmail upgrade last April.

Further Details

Google will automatically transition users to this new UI by April 2022. While you’ll be able to go back to the previous UI for a short time, Google claims it will be phased out by Q2 2022, which normally implies sometime in the early summer. The UI will declutter the data sharing process through emails and make it more streamlined.

Users who want to have Google Chat appear on the right side of their inbox may be upset since the new UI disables this feature. Nonetheless, Google appears to be making the everyday process of reading emails a little more fun by cleaning up the Gmail UI.

Gmail is one of the greatest Android applications available, and it already splits these four areas using tabs at the bottom of your phone’s screen.
