In addition, five new Macs based on in-house silicon have been introduced.

On the other hand, Apple has been utilizing its processors for years, and the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are the first Google phones to use Google-branded silicon. This past November, Apple introduced the world to the first computers driven by its M1 chipset, with the promise that, within two years, the whole Mac portfolio will be powered by Apple technology. Expert Mark Gurman believes that Apple is on pace to fulfill its promise and that the corporation has plans to produce low-cost 5G iPhone shares to compete with products such as Google’s A-series handsets shortly.

In his Power On newsletter (as reported by MacRumors), Gurman provides a rough outline of what he believes Apple’s 2022 would look like. Apple will introduce five new Mac laptops by the end of the year, according to him, each of which will operate on proprietary silicon: Additionally, there will be an upgraded, higher-end iMac to go along with this year’s 24-inch model; a revamped MacBook Air powered by a new, as of yet unnamed M2 chipset; an updated Mac Mini; a new entry-level MacBook Pro; and a new Mac Pro.

Apple’s new 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pros have received overwhelmingly positive feedback for their outstanding performance, stunning screens, and return to a more comprehensive array of connectors, which includes the much-loved MagSafe charging connection. According to the manufacturer, while any of these versions may be equipped with either M1 Pro or M1 Max processors, the 13-inch model has not received a comparable upgrade and is presently only available with a conventional M1 processor. According to Gurman, the future entry-level model would be powered by the so-called M2 processor as the upcoming MacBook Air model.

Aside from new Macs, Gurman anticipates the introduction of new AirPod Pros, a virtual reality headset, and a new iPhone SE that is 5G-compatible. Since we were big fans of the previous generation, it will be interesting to see how the next iPhone compares against the incoming Pixel 6a, which is expected to arrive with the same Tensor CPU that powers Google’s current flagship.
